Building Concepts is at the heart of my approach. I believe students should understand the "why" behind every formula and theory. I break down complex topics into simpler ideas, often using real-life examples from engineering to illustrate how these concepts are applied in the world around us. My focus on visual learning helps students connect abstract ideas with tangible examples, fostering deeper understanding. Next, Practicing Skills is key to mastery. I encourage students to apply what they’ve learned through a variety of problems, progressively increasing in difficulty. Practice helps build confidence, and I emphasize the importance of understanding the problem-solving process, not just getting the right answer. Mistakes are seen as learning opportunities, where students can reflect and improve their techniques. Strengthening Fundamentals is crucial, as a strong foundation in basic math ensures success in more advanced topics. I regularly assess students' understanding of core concepts and address any gaps to ensure they have a firm grasp on the essentials. My background as an engineer helps me connect these fundamentals to practical situations, making the learning process more relatable and meaningful. Finally, Perfecting Success is about helping students reach their personal best. I tailor my teaching to each student's needs, focusing on refining their techniques, boosting their confidence, and preparing them for exams with effective strategies. My ultimate goal is to see students excel in math while developing problem-solving and critical-thinking skills that will serve them beyond the classroom.
